Here are the top five employers of veterans in the U.S. ranked based on the programs they developed to attract them.

  1. USAA – It has a special jobs portal for veterans, invested in new technology to help transitioning service members translate their military skills to the civilian world.
  2. AT&T – The telecoms giant has its searchable job portal for veterans, hired a special officer for recruiting military veterans and created an in-company group for veterans to network and collaborate. It also offers scholarships for veterans and military families and partners with veteran nonprofits to honor military service. AT&T is a Department of Defense (DoD) SkillBridge partner.
  3. United Health Group – It has a special veteran job search portal that allows veterans to search job openings based on keywords, locations and military occupational specialty codes. The company is also a DoD Skillbridge partner.
  4. Amazon – Veterans looking to apply at the e-commerce giant can use its proprietary military skills translator. It does not only hire veterans but also veteran spouses. Amazon employs 10,000 spouses and pledged to hire up to 100,000 by the end of 2024.
  5. Instant Teams – The company, founded by two military spouses, actively recruits veterans and spouses for jobs in many fields. It offers software to match applicant skills with open positions.
